The Rev. Frank E. Fuller, President of the Society since
2003, has accepted a call to be rector of St. Mark's Church,
Beaumont, in the Diocese of Texas, and assumes his duties
there 15 December 2007. He will continue to serve his term
on the board and explore ways to extend the work of the
Society throughout the region. 11/29/07
The Rev. Dan Lauer, Society Board member since
2004, has returned to service in the U.S. Coast
Guard and is currently serving in Portsmouth, VA.

Our President--
The Rev. John Badders, rector of St. John's Church,
McAllen, was unanimously elected President of the
Bishop Elliott Society, at the annual meeting of the
Board of Directors 8 March 2008 in San Antonio.
Other actions of the Board included appointment of the Rev. Frank Fuller as executive director, and
approval of a grant to the Anglican Communion Institute, Inc., to support their development of a
teaching conference program centered in Texas and Toronto, Canada. The board also adopted a Rule of
Life to commend to members of the Society. New board members elected included Steven Emerson and
B.J. Kershaw of Corpus Christi, and Duncan Sutherland of Victoria. 3/8/08

for The Rev. David G. Read, an
associate of BES, on his election as
rector of St. Luke's Church, San
Antonio. He will assume his duties
in June 2009.
El Presidente Badders has begun a sabbatical which
will take him to Israel this summer and even further
afield as he stokes the fires of knowledge and zeal.

St. George Church and Rector Ram Lopez, a member of the Bishop
Elliott Board, will host the Most Rev. Bernard Ntahoturi, archbishop of
Burundi, in east Africa, for a missionary visit April 20, 2009. The
archbishop is visiting south Texas in a tour organized by the Anglican
Communion Institute and the Bishop Elliott Society.

Board Member John Warren has been honored
for his tact, humility, and charm with the task of
being chauffeur to the Most Rev. Dr. Katharine
Jefferts-Schori when she inspects the Diocese of
West Texas in April. His excellent driving
skills and fine vehicle selection will also serve
well.
Our prayers and love surround our President, the Rev. John Badders of McAllen, on the death of his
beloved wife, Judy, on 17 September 2009. We lift up the Badders family and St. John's Parish in their
time of loss, and we give thanks for the blessing of Judy's life. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
The Board of Directors met in San Antonio 4 September 2009 at St. Luke's Church. Judge Kelley Kimble of
Uvalde was elected to the Board, and officers and other members were re-elected. Plans were set in place
for the coming year. The Board voted a grant to the Anglican Communion Institute to carry on its work of
teaching and witness.
At the semi-annual board meeting in Corpus Christi, President John Badders shared the happy news
that he has accepted a call to serve as Senior Associate Rector at St. Luke's Church, San Antonio,
beginning in mid-June. We will keep him in our prayers and offer our thanksgivings for this exciting
new ministry for John. The board also elected the Rev. Philip Cunningham to the board and received
the resignation of the Rev. Chip Prehn, who is moving to Midland as Headmaster of Trinity School.
